SO WHY USE NEW? THE ANSWER IS, WE DON'T HAVE TO AND WE DON'T. WE TAKE APART PREVIOUSLY USED CLOTHING AND RECYCLE.
that's been our motto from day 1.
FROM THE FOUNDER
"Being a responsible fashion brand first, putting sustainability at the heart of our business, and going to market with this ethos is everything to me.
Looking back 20 years from now, I want to be able to say, yes we made the right choices for the environment, well-being of our team, all while putting out beautiful fashion for our partners that brought joy.
Vintage and upcycled fashion deserves the limelight in mainstream retail and we're so proud to be at the forefront of showcasing our version of "new" with enlightened retailers who share our vision."

All the destined for landfill stock becomes our "source fabric" for making new styles. No fresh reams of fabric here. We create our own fabric by meticulously taking apart sweatshirts, t-shirts, pants, jackets, catalog them and presto - the fun begins.
Not using new materials is a BIG deal though. It's much harder, costs us more, but it's the right thing to do.
Often, fashion supply chains are overly complex, which can make it nearly impossible to trace and verify a company’s environmental and labour standards. In contrast, we keep our supply chain simple. One design studio, suppliers situated close together, no offshore production, and local suppliers that really get us.
SUSTAINABILITY PRINCIPLES EACH STEP OF THE WAY
we source the best vintage
Every piece of vintage clothing is at least 20 years old and we curate the very best that the 60s-2000’s has to offer.
Use what already exists, we buy destined for landfill stock
We work with clothing recyclers to separate this stock and purchase in volume so we can upcycle it in our studio. We actually seek out garments with damage because we know we can transform them.
authentication is key
We want our customers to be confident that each single garment has been authenticated as vintage. This means everything is at least 20 years old. If it’s not, we’ll call it out so you know.
small batch production and every scrap is found a new home
Unlike a traditional garment manufacturer where studio cuttings and remnants end up straight to landfill in the US, every single remnant is stored and used in our zero waste design by our studio design team. It's the central idea of our production. If a design creates waste that we can't use elsewhere, then that design is not made.
ZERO WASTE DESIGN PERMEATES OUR REWORKING STUDIO
WE PLANT A TREE FOR EVERY ORDER PLACED
For every customer order placed online, we plant a tree via One Tree Planted for reforestation efforts. At checkout, customers have the option to match this with planting another tree, netting 2 new trees per order placed. Every quarter, we select a new location for trees to be planted. Right now, all trees are being planted in California.
Five years of drought and a large-scale bark beetle infestation have seriously damaged California’s forests. 2017’s record-breaking wildfire season burned more than 1.3 million acres – an area the size of Delaware. 2020’s fire season has consumed close to 3 million acres, resulting in hundreds of millions of trees that will need to be restored.
happy is a choice
We believe our small everyday choices like, where we buy our clothing, how much we buy, or if we buy anything at all (because let's face it, it doesn't always make one happy), these are all things that can help or hinder our inner peace.
